In the ocean, where things go on forever
and black turns into
blue and back again,
that’s where he wants to be.
He wants to find reality
down there where gravity is made
into weightless free fall by the buoyancy of water’s lift.
Where silence is quieter and movement is smoother.
Where sharks are a mystery, not the enemy.
Where things that don’t make sense don’t
have to make sense, because they make fine sense down there
in the great big blue and black again.
